Healthy Mend journey began in 2016 by Basim Alansari, a former child refugee whose journey reflects resilience and determination. After his family fled conflict, they journeyed through six countries over the years, overcoming numerous challenges before finally seeking asylum in Australia, Basim faced additional hurdles as he pursued education as an international student. Raised in a family of scholars and poets, he emerged as a multilingual, multicultural and multidisciplinary leader and healthcare executive with an academic foundation in Management and Public Health. Basim actively engages with and sits on community boards and government committees, advocating for diverse voices and experiences, which is central to our mission.
